Women Journalists Without Chains
Vision:
To help create an effective, trusted and
authentic media that promotes social development, plays a major role in
bringing about positive change, and advocates for civil liberties and freedom.
Definition:
Women Journalists
Without Chains (WJWC) is a non-governmental organization that works towards
promoting civil rights, especially freedom of speech and press and democratic
rights of citizens. We also promote utilizing different media outlets to
promote social development by encouraging independent thought, advocating women
and children's rights adopt youth activities and work towards a transparent and
just rule.
We are registered with the ministry of labor and social affairs under number
(142), 2005
Yemen.
Our Goals:
·Utilizing the media to achieve a
comprehensive political and social development.
·Ensuring a wider margin for freedom of
press of all sorts, including the right to own and operate written, heard, and
visual media for individuals, organizations and political parties.
·Training journalists to enhance their
professional skills, and advocating their rights.
·Enhancing journalism skills for
politicians, parliament members, and youth and women leaders in society.
·Advocating civil rights and liberties.
·Advocating women's rights and encouraging
them to participate more actively in political and social affairs.
·Creating opportunities for youth to
participate in development and decision-making.
·Advocating children's rights.
·Promoting proper governance, combating
corruption, and encouraging transparency and rule of the law.
Means:
Issuing various statements to help
advance the cause of civil liberties in general, and freedom of press in
particular.
